Quote, Summary, Source Analysis, and Citation # 2

“They do it late at night when their parents are asleep. They do it in restaurants and while crossing busy streets. They do it in the classroom with their hands behind their back. They do it so much their thumbs hurt. The phenomenon is beginning to worry physicians and psychologists, who say it is leading to anxiety, distraction in school, falling grades, repetitive stress injury and sleep deprivation.”
This quote is saying that because teens’ text, physicians are beginning to worry about how teens’ will be affected in their future. Because they text so frequently, and pretty much everywhere, it can cause distraction in school, falling grades, and sleep deprivation. An example is from a teenage girl, who texted so much her thumbs started to ache. Therefore, now she does not text as much as she used to.
I think teens’ who text everywhere and ALL the time should know how they are hurting themselves. It may seem like fun, but in the long run, they could face some harsh problems. This is a problem all around that is soon going to be seen everywhere. Psychologists are studying what effects teens’ will face, and before they get to bad, I think teens should lower the amount of texting they do.
