Quote, Summary, Source Analysis, and Citation #3

“In your opinion, is texting good for or an enemy of grammar? Text messaging has surely given our society a quick means through which to communicate, taking out the need for capitalization, punctuation, and the use and knowledge of sentence structure and the detail that makes a good statements great.”

This quote explains that texting causes teens’ to have a “new” form of writing that does not coincide with the regular use of English grammar like punctuation and capitalization. Texting has made educators suggest that this is the new age form of messaging that may be hindering todays’ teens’ abilities of writing and social skills. Many teachers say teenagers’ carry over their text message writing towards their school assignments.

I think if teens continue to text, their grades will fall tremendously, and they obviously will lack the ability of writing and/or speaking skills that is not correct. I, myself do not use any special format of texting, I use the same grammar techniques that I would, as if I were writing an essay. Other teenagers’ should too!
